How to Make A Profit Even If A Catastrophe Hits!

Hi Love!

How could we forget Hurricane Sandy? Besides being one of the scariest hurricanes to hit the east coast, Sandy destroyed hundreds of homes and businesses. While most people are still re-cooping, Deb Di Gregorio, a Maplewood resident and working mother of two decided to write "Triumph Over Toothpicks, The Essential Guide to Business in the Digital Age ". After speaking to groups of small businesses impacted by Sandy, Gregorio decided to shed light on her experience and how she was overcome the challenges she faced being a working mother during one of the biggest catastrophes in America.

Available via Amazon

To resurrect their business, business owners were expected to quickly learn new advances within technology, mobile and how to use other platforms. Those experiences led Gregorio to combine the perspectives of each business owner she came across to create a robust Kickstarter and finally her book.

Quick to consume, fun to read with straight-up advice and completely irreverent images: Blessed Virgin Mary at the Annunciation taking a selfie, anyone? That’s just one of the many off-kilter, deliberately low-tech collage illustrations that accompany the book’s uniquely clear-eyed point-of-view.

When done, readers will never see our digital world the same way again — business owners will be empowered and in charge of their digital destiny. Please pick up a copy of Gregorio's book to educate yourself and to learn the tips and tricks these business owners used to keep their companies afloat in an ever changing economy.

Being A Woman 101

Hi Love,
Let's start with the basics.

  1. Female CEOs hold 14.2% of the leadership positions at the companies at the S&P 500.
  2. Of those 500 companies there are only 24 female CEOs. (Obviously these facts don't consider all female entrepreneurs nor do they explain the patriarchal system that this nation is founded upon).
  3. Women make roughly 78% of what men make in their annual full-time pay and majority of the time women do not negotiate their salary.
  4. Being a boss and being a leader are two different things.
So if you're reading this please understand that it is time for a change because would be nice to see more female leaders. This site is geared toward putting the spotlight on amazing artists, writers, directors, entertainers, designers and CEOs etc. that are breaking the glass ceiling for female leaders. A little inspiration can go a long way so keep your eyes peeled because being a woman isn't easy and neither is being a leader but you can do it.

I'm not a feminist but I'm something close to it. This site is geared towards educating and empowering women by informing them that they can and will succeed. Hope you enjoy!
