Two women are on a mission to eliminate a phrase that yields 15 million search results on Google: mom entrepreneur. This collaborative book -- which encourages a shift in the family and work support system so that mom entrepreneurs are simply entrepreneurs -- includes insights of 11 business influencers and provides how-to steps in starting a business and managing family. Topics include:

Motherhood:
    • Time Management Tips
    • Money and Marriage
    • Financial Planning
    • Self-Care
    • Get Your Body Back after Baby

“The name of the book came from the reality of where we are in society with accepting moms in dual roles of running a successful business and family,”shares co-author Flesché Hesch. “By drawing attention to it, we hope to make the phrase mom entrepreneur obsolete in the future while acknowledging how support systems must change in order to have happy, healthy and thriving families.”

Paid Maternity Leave -- Nationwide

Hi Love!

Susan Wojcicki is the CEO of YouTube, a 40 billion dollar video sharing website that is a subset of Google. Wojciciki is 47, she has 5 children and still is able to manage motherhood and a top position at work. When she graduated from college the internet didn't even exist yet however over the course of her life she took in two of her friends who soon created Google in her garage in 1998. By 1999, she was Google's first marketing manager and is now credited with having an active role in the creation of Google Images, Google Books and the acquisition of YouTube.

YouTube has 1 billion users worldwide and Wojciciki oversees the entire corporation. With YouTube producing numerous videos daily, Wojciciki almost never saw maternity leave especially when she was pregnant with her fifth child. Now she is on a mission to get the government to create a law that provides paid maternity leave and family benefits nationwide.Currently, only 5% of U.S employers offer maternity leave which is absolutely absurd. Accordingly, as a way to support her mission, I wanted to share this amazing story with you.

Check out her profile below:

If she was able to run a company with five children without any excuses we shouldn't have any either. Let's get to work!

Let Peggy Mangot Teach Your Family How to Invest

Hi Love,

Meet Peggy Mangot, an entrepreneur and mother of three who left her job at Google to launch her own company called SparkGift. SparkGift is an all digital investing platform that makes it easy and affordable for your family and friends to give and receive investments as gifts. Just think about it. This amazing company provides the perfect gift for holidays, birthdays, anniversaries and much more.

By making it as easy to gift-give $50 of Apple stock as gifting a $50 iTunes gift card, Peggy realized her goal of giving anyone who would rather give gifts that appreciate in value rather than depreciate in value, end up in a landfill, and/or go completely unused (like so many gift cards) the ability to gift stocks and mutual funds with ease.

How it works 1

Honestly, SparkGift is a genius idea. As an easy and affordable way to learn about money and large transactions, SparkGift is definitely an innovator in technology. Additionally, there are more awesome features you can learn about below:

- SparkGift can gift an investment ranging from $20 to $1,000 in mere minutes.

- SparkGift can gift-give stocks and index funds, including fractional shares.

- SparkGift can create an online gift registry for the stocks and index funds of their choice.

- SparkGift can schedule an investment gift to be delivered (via email) on the day of the holiday or occasion (birthday, graduation, Bar Mitzvah, communion, wedding shower, baby shower, anniversary, Christmas, Hanukkah, etc.)

- SparkGift will teach young people about investing by showing them how their gifted investments are growing, encouraging them to make additional investments with money from their allowance, part-time job, etc. and helping them value investments over "stuff".

Megan Smith -- The Chief Technology Officer of America

Hi Love,

As you know, Twitter is looking to replace their current CEO Dick Costolo with a woman so I decided to look into America's top choices. Costolo has served as Twitter's CEO for 5 years but now that his position is open, it would be great to have a woman in leadership.

Meet Megan Smith -- the Chief Technology Officer of the United States. She was previous the Vice President of Google for nine years so of course she could handle Twitter with her eyes closed. Her current job entails on advising the president on patent reform, privacy issues and net neutrality.

Cool Facts:

Besides being a pretty lady, Smith has 2 children and she graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Although she is definitely a leader in technology, Smith is also very respected for creating TechHire -- a company geared toward bringing more women and minorities into the tech world. By reaching out to colleges and other training institutions, Smith is aiming to build a more diverse workforce.

For more information be sure to check out Megan Smith's TechHire initiative.
