Get to know Dayton, Ohio entrepreneur Nikki Swisher, founder of Maui Whitening:

Swisher founded Maui Whitening out of a personal experience she had in teeth whitening coupled with an entrepreneurial spirit.  Prior to Maui Whitening, Swisher spent five years as an elementary school teacher and started her first business in the evenings and on weekends, while teaching 2nd grade.  She became a stay-at-home mom after her two children were born.

Nikki Swisher, launched Maui Whitening with one Washington Township location in January 2014. It is now regarded as the fastest growing laser teeth whitening dealership-based company in the United States with 65-plus locations sold in the company’s first 18 months. Salons can be found in 22 states, and those numbers are growing monthly.

Maui Whitening’s teeth whitening gel and equipment are produced in  Food and Drug Administration registered facilities. A 20-minute teeth whitening session is $99, a 40-minute session is $149 and a 60-minute session is $179. A 60-minute session can result in whitening teeth as much as 20 shades brighter in only an hour.

Maui Whitening stores require between 500 square feet and 1,200 square feet, and can be operated by one or two employees. The cost to open a location is under  $10,000. The dealership agreement includes all the equipment and supplies to open a two-station salon, along with  marketing materials, and support.

Swisher is diligently focused on continuing to grow the number of locations and states for Maui Whitening. In the next 30 days, she also projects the opening of the first “Maui Super Salon” at the Cross Pointe Center in Dayton, Ohio, where the company is headquartered. The concept will offer teeth whitening, lash extensions, Botox and fillers. Swisher is confident there will be a nationwide market for the “Maui Super Salon” concept  too.
