The Year of Viola

Hi Love!

How to Get Away with Murder's Viola Davis is really taking over television. So far in 2015, she has won a Golden Globe and an Emmy -- which is an outstanding achievement for women all over the world. By breaking the glass ceiling for African American women in the entertainment industry, she is paving a way for minorities to also having promising careers in Hollywood.

Let's Check Out Viola Davis at her best:

To give a few facts about her life to put her recognition into perspective I wanted to share the info below:

1. Previous to this year she was nominated for two Oscars.

2. She was born on her grandmother's farm in South Carolina during the 1960s, a very difficult time for African Americans in America. After her birth, her family moved to Rhode Island which opened many doors for her and sparked her interest in acting.

3. Neither of her parents were rich (in 1965) when they moved to Rhode Island but they were able to send her to Rhode Island College and New York City's Julliard.

4. How to Get Away With Murder is unlike any other show on television. With high-ratings and a story line which includes Viola as the lead actress, this show confirms that truth is philosophical.

5. Viola Davis is one of the best actresses on this planet -- there is not one role that she cannot play.
